Eight Pieces of Silk

The body should be supple like an infant;
the movements should be flexible like a snake;
the feeling should be soft like water;
the breathing should be smooth like a cloud.
~Qigong Proverb
Eight Pieces of Silk (Baduanjin)

Eight Pieces of Silk qigong harmonizes the qi of the mind, body and spirit. With 8 movements combined with meditation and breathing, we cultivate more clarity, relaxation and energy. Cultivating qi brings about many health benefits to the cardiovascular system, circulation, digestion, mental health, immune system, muscular-skeletal system and longevity. With practice and time it can change one’s health and life. In the practice of qigong we begin where we are compassionately and move gently into our own body-wisdom.

Along with the Eight Pieces of Silk  form of Qigong  we'll learn some qi warm-ups, breathwork and meditation.  Wear clothing that you can move in, be bare foot if you are able, have enough room to move around...in other words: be comfortable. If you have a yoga mat, carpet, meditation cushion or pillow have those easily available.
